when i write a disk and theirs some free space can i use this for other files?
If you mean when the CD is burned there is free space left, right?
If the session closed which is programed to do it won't be possible..Let's say you burn a PSX2 game and there is empty space left it's closed..That's the way it was meant to be..

my meaning is that before i write a image file if the image is not 700mb if i could ad other files to the imgae and not mess the game up
Well NO PS1 is 700 megs it's max of 625..The image does stretch to 700 but that's just the image..You can add the patch if it's necessary..Other than that I don't see anything you can add..
Making the image using CDRwin and use PPF o Matic to patch the game(Remove the protection) that's about it..

is it ok if i write some computer files that don't exceed 625mb
Like what? Give me an Example! Let's say you decided to Burn Dino Crisis which infact does require a patch..You made the image and then you applied the patch..Then what? What are you trying to Add?

lets say i want to put a text document in it
Not sure why you want to but go ahead and try..I doubt that it will be harmful..Let me know what happens..
Let him try it..Blank CDR doesn't cost much..Sure the coaster will be made but who knows..I never mess with files except patching the game that's it..

Why ?
i dont know why you would want to do that but my buddy is the same way and yes you can add other files to the cdr and yes it will work. it just depends on what program you use.
