View Full Version : Making PSone Backup's with Liteon
My Burner will only go to a minimum of 8x. Is it possible to get reliable backup's at that spped that will work on a chipped StealthMod PSone? If not can anything be done to get a good burn with this recorder?
Have a lit-on also and have not had any problems with back-ups yet ,the only way to find out is have a go,try using desent cdr quality discs though,ie: datasafe, traxdata etc
Maybe a question here I have a mo chip coming. But I've downloaded several PSone Boot discs and burned them I cannot get any to work, what's up with these do they work? I assume you boot from them first then place in the backup? Anone have any info?
Hi again m8ty#
The problem being is that you need to have you playstation chipped before you can play any back-up games.
You can buy an original boot disc for about £8 from local computer fairs etc.
The one you downloaded and burned to disc will not work until you have chipped yer psx or have an original boot disc.
In laymans terms the boot up sequence for the psx game is pressed into the centre of the original game at manufacture, the laser on the psx can read this and it moves the laser to the beginning of the game to start play.
The laser on your re-writer or reader can on read from the start of the game so does not copy the boot up material thus the game will not play unless you chip the unit or use the original boot disc to move the laser to the start of game.
Sorry so long winded but hope this helps and doesn't confuse to much with my waffling on a bit. lol
