Hi all

Maybe a strange question:

What's the difference between
'Drive writes regular bit patterns almost correctly'
and
'Drive writes regular bit patterns correctly' ?

I mean, what is NOT possible with a burner that writes the regular bit patterns "almost" correctly, but possible with one writing the RBP correctly?
Safedisc 2.51.2x sectors or something?

thanks

Yea it's to do with SD 2.51.021 and beyond.
Drives that were previously thought to be capable of correct EFM coding of regular bit patterns were defeated by this new version of Safedisk - note that this is of course without using Betablocker of AWS.

Plextor 24X are almost perfect as they cannot copy SD 2.51 without AWS/Betablocker

Lite-on 24X > are "perfect" when it comes to correct EFM coding - but who knows what Macrovi$ion have in store.

Cool. Where did you find that "Safedisc white paper" ?

Ok, never mind. I have found it myself already :-)
