I've got the Echelon release of Nhl2k2, it converts to cdi fine but when trying to burn it with DJ V3.50.800 i get the following error:-
Event 17820. Command sequence error or program area is or is not empty.
I'm using a Hewlett Packard 8200i with firmware version 1.0f
Anyone have any idea's whats going wrong here?
thanks for anyone's help.

Maybe try downloading the latest version of DJ or get CDI2NRG and burn with Nero.

I've tried converting it to a .nrg and using nero.
but i still get an error saying:-
Invalid field in parameter list, could not start disc-at-once
I've checked the cdi with cd mage and its not comming up with any errors, so i have no idea what going wrong.
Thanks
Alex

Maybe it's a "LBA 11700 something" error...
Maybe you should try to remake your CD by your own :
_ extract all files from your image with CD Mage
_ follow Echelon's selfboot tutorial using "11702" as LBA value
There's no reason why it shouldn't work.
Are you sure your burner supports multi session CDs ?

Thanks for the tips,
i've followed the echelon instructions exactly, and i've got further, i now have burnt a cd which when put in a dreamcast brings up the echelon logo, greets etc. then says starting game. but then the screen goes blank and nothing happens.
any ideas whats wrong?
i've tried it a couple of times and i'm pretty sure i'm doing everything as i should, getting LBA values of 11702. etc.
Thanks again!
Alex.

Maybe you have to patch several ".BIN" files.
Try to look for "*.BIN" containing "CD001". If you find such files, you should patch them so that they also start at 11702. It's quite easy to do that :
_ extract all your files in a directory
_ search all files containing "CD001" (usually ".BIN" files located in the game's root)
_ run BINHACK on all the files you found, using 11702 LBA value (just as you've done with 1st_read.bin), including 1st_read.bin
_ follow Echelon's tutorial to finish the process
Then, let me know if it worked :)

i've heard that some games need a bit of extra tinkering.
But unfortunately this game only has two bin files "1ST_READ" and "CRANK" crank doesn't have any reference to CD001 and only has CD in it once followed by #.
would it be something to do with the media i'm using? they're unbranded, but apperntly 'A' Grade!?! :)
but i have burnt Jet Grind Radio using them.
Thanks for all the help, any other ideas greatly appreciated
Alex.

Did you also burn CDDAs ?
If the musiks are needed and if you didn't burn them, that should be the reason why it doesn't work.
If you burned them, LBA value isn't 11702 any more.
Did you checked that ?

Confusious :
Usually, ".001", ".002", ".003", ... files are compressed files.
Use Winrar to decompress them.
You should get one file that you should be able to burn then.

Megalexxx thanks for all the help,
I don't think it has any CDDA's the only music track in the original .cdi is the 6 second one. i'm not sure if i'm meant to be looking elsewhere?

If you have the latest version, all you need to do is start it up, open the .001 file, click extract and tell it where you want to put it.

ok. i decopressed the .001 and there was a cue file and an iso that was 733,129 kb big when when i tryed to decompress the others there was a pop up message that said 1 ulfc-vrc2.003: No files to extract
What am i suposed to do?
sorry for to many questions :(
That would be correct. The file you extracted was actually partially contained in ALL of those files. If you tried to extract .002 or .003, it won't find the start of a file and it will give you an error. You should only extract the files from the first file.

Then can you explain how to burn the iso file? or are you able to convert it into a cdi file because im not that good with iso.
also it i have to burn it at an iso will it be self bootable or not.
Download BIN2BOOT from this link: http://dcxeal.virtualave.net/b2b-cdda-b1.zip
It will convert .BIN files (or .ISO files), to bootable CDI files.
Really though, if you have a .CUE, the other file should have been a .BIN rather than an .ISO. That's really strange. The .BIN/.CUE combination comes from a program called CDRWIN.

Hey,
i tryed that but it didnt do anything.
any onther suggestions?
You have to use BIN2BOOT correctly for it to do anything.
You cannot just execute BIN2BOOT from Windows and expect it to prompt you for the file to convert. You'll need to follow these steps:
1. Open a command prompt (ensuring you are in the folder that BIN2BOOT and the .ISO or .BIN file are in.
2. Type the following: BIN2BOOT filename.iso
3. Press the ENTER key.
It should start processing the file and when you're through, you should also have a file with a .CDI extension (image.cdi). Of course above where I said filename, it should be whatever filename your existing file is. For instance, if the file was called XYZ.ISO you'd use the command line BIN2BOOT XYZ.ISO.
Does this make sense now?
