can i make 1to1 copies on my new plextor 16/10/40

should i change the 16/10/40 for the 12/10/32 plex
as most people tell me that the 16/10/40 will not write sub
channels

I have also read messages on some of these forums stating that the firmwares after 1.04 for the PlexWriter 12/10/32a prevented the copying of protected CDs. Well the 1.08 firmware on my new 12/10/32a works great! BTW, the HP9300 series with firmware 1.0c can do the job too!
