I have recieved a patch enabling the CDROM to reconise DVD's through enabling DVDUI within the Hkey Current user files in the register. Unfortunatley these instructions were translated from Dutch to English and are unreadable ! does any one have the right instructions or patch to help me.

Ha Ha!
You can only read DVD with a DVD rom.
There is NO patch that will enable any cd rom to read a dvd!

To Nemisis, I know your wrong as that DVD and CD are physically identical it's only the software that controls which is which.
A simple question for you. DO YOU WROK IN A PC STORE OR ARE CONECTED WITH THE DISTRIBUTION OF PC EQUIPMENT ? if so the I know why you answered the way you did.

Got to add to this one.
Sorry mate, you've been had. There is no way a cdrom can reada dvd!!! I can safely say that i am not involved with a pc store or manufacturer.
My opinion comes from research I have carried out as a computer science student, it is physically impossible as they use a different type of narrow-band laser to read and the data layout on the disc (i.e the iso format) is completely diferent.

you are a ####ing idiot to belive that you can read a dvd with a cdrom
it isn't possible!
they are not physically identical!
they may look the same to you but just because they are round and shiny like a cd DOES NOT mean they are the same
They are not the same
they NEED a dvd drive to read them
the laser is completly different to that of a cdrom!
but if you want to try then go ahead
and try,
You will only be disappointed!
