Hi !

I bought a Game Hunter (externat Mod cartridge) from mod-chip.com but it doesn’t work. Has anyone had the same pb, or it is my PSX that ain’t compatible ? (PAL / 5502 series)

Thanx, Delek

Yes, I have the same problem. I have tried it on 4 different consoles. None work. Please see my post on 14/06/02

Delek,

Got mine to work. The problem I had was that I was trying to use a PAL format boot disc to boot NTSC games. I tried today using PAL-PAL and it works great.

Also for your info ( seeing they forgot to include it with the documentation ) is a detailed procdure for playing backup's.

1. Plug the thing into your serial port, make sure the switch is in the UP position ( I've no idea what the down position is for? )

2. Istall the spring into the CD lid switch.

3. From now on, it doesn't matter wether you have the lid closed or open, so leave it open for now.

4. With the Playstation off, insert an original disc of the same format as that you wish to play, this can be a game or simply a demo disc, doesn't matter.

5. Turn the Playstation on, you should be greeted with the game hunter menu, and the disc should spin for about 4 secs then stop. Wait for the disc to stop.

6. When the disc has stopped, Remove your original CD, replace it with the backup CD ( of the same format ) and press the O button ( makesure you are on the default menu item - Play - Mod Play )

7. The game should have booted! If not, try another back-up as it may be faulty.

8. You may now close the lid or leave it open, close it if you drink as much coke as I do :-)

I have found that useing for a boot disk,a game with with more than 20> audio tracks works best. Also after you boot up you should be able to play games from anywhere.I play U.S. games on my Jap. psx and Jap. games on my U.S. psx, just need to boot right.Hope that helps.
