View Full Version : What the hell?
Hi people
I've just got a cdwr8432 and nero 5 I've tried backing up my 007 cd and it said error simulating at 4x.
Why? do i need a driver cos I aint got one installed.
Is it the cdwr?
Am i a fool?
please help
not all CDRW need to have drivers installed from a cd installation. You may see in the control panel>system>device manager>CDROM> select your CDRW click on properties. It may say that no driver is needed or has been loaded for this device. This is fine as Windows did it. But check you have no other errors in the properties page in general, settings or driver. Check your version of nero supports your CDRW as I recently purchased a plextor and had to upgrade my version of CDRWIN to get it to reconise my CDRW.
Some things here to check out before someone else gives you others.
Yeah I hecked the device that's fine and the nero version came with the cdwriter so it's supported.
Does it matter if I have Clone and CDRWIN on the system as well as nero?

i had easy cd creater on my system and then installed nero aswell. but it would not work until i removed easy cd. now i use cdrwin all the time.
cheers
if you have an error simulating at 4x then nero is telling you it cant read the data on the cd,maybe the media is damaged or unreadable.Try copying a different game. if you are running windows 98 or better you do not need to install a device driver windows default drivers will work fine
