View Full Version : Stealth Chips
Do these stealth chips really work on all games even protected ones?
If so would you recommend that I get one and remove my run of mill chip and replace it with a stealth chip.
to be honest I still have got the standard 4 wire mode chip and to date have not found a backup of a game that wont load.
There seems to be a lot of hype about stealth but not really found the need for one yet. The new PSONE may be different cause there is some extra checking built in to detect the modchip and stealth chips can switch off and on to this checking. I have noticed that the new PSONE chips will be 7 wire stealth for better results and may play more games without the need for the boot disk.
Keep your old mod chip instead of the stealth set-up, there are new chips out now even for the PS1 that can be used to play un-patched back up games, these can be used in all machines

I have the old psx with a 4 month old stealth chip from playchip.com. I have had very good luck with this chip, up until I purchased NFL gameday 2001. I put the game in and recieved a message that my console was modified and the game would not run. I also have a PSone with a new stealth chip from modchipz.com that I purchased a week ago. The backup of NFL Gameday 2001 works perfectly with no patch.
zuker
looks like this one could run and run
Stealth vs run of the mill.
