New Dreamcasts and macs

There seems to be A LOT of people out there struggling with their new Dreamcasts, and I'm one of them.

I've read the Dreamcasts after December 2000 are protected, and having just bought mine in the UK, I presume it was made after this date (there is no date on the bottom).

I also have a mac, another hinderance to burning games.

Does anyone know how to achieve burning on a mac for new dreamcasts?!?

Yes, what were we thinking, Macs are the answer they do... nothing better than PCs. Well only one thing, I've read up a lot on the PowerPC vs. AMD/Intel CPU benchmarks, the only thing PowerPC has on AMD/Intel is Photoshop conversions, whoopie. Other than that, Mac is whack.

I guarantee you, you can get a PC that is 4X faster than your current Mac, for less than you paid for your Mac. God help us if the U.S. Military used iMacs or G4s.

If there is no date on the bottom of your DC, find the stupid idiot who sold it to you, and find the date from him/her. There should also be a model number on the bottom as well, like HKT-3000 or something.

The serial is something higher than the HKT 3000 you gave...does that mean it's one of the protected ones then?

Mac's are a much better machine than any pc, a g4 867 runs way faster than any pc on the market. Sure you could have a 2ghz pc but it doesnt run at half that, macs cost more cause there a better built machine. If a pc would actually run at its full potential then pc's would be great, I own both a pc and a mac, and I like my mac better for almost everything, except for one...that would be burnin dc games. I tried on the mac, I put in alot of effort, but I just couldnt get it to work, so I went out and got a pc with a p4 in it, and even though the shitty ass operating system(referring to all the windows) the pc seems ta work great.

Your comparing apples to groundhogs here my friend. The Pentium 4 is the worst god damn CPU ever made, hell even Intel admits it, in one of their newsletters they showed off a P4 chip with a heatspreader and the background was a Tyan TigerMP motherboard with two AMD Palamino processors. Secondly in benchmarks ran, the AMD Thunderbird 1.4GHz blazed past the Pentium 4 2GHz in MIPS and MFLOPS. Now that we have the AMD Athlon XPs out with QuantiSpeed architecture, it will outscore any G4 by several miles.

The last benchmark I saw, compared a top of the line G4 against a Pentium 3 933MHz, and the P3 smoked the G4, it was no close battle. As I stated, the only thing PowerPC has over AMD/Intel processors is Photoshop conversions, that is it. It does nothing better than the PC, except for that miniscule detail.

Hell even my stock machine here could beat any G4 you threw at it in 3DMark and SiSoft.

Final question then...if you have a game which, when un-rared, is over a gig, what is the procedure to burn it over two disks, and for it to subsequently work?
