When I dowload a game how do I know if it's already a self booting game or not?
Don`t tell me to burn it down and try it, cause that's the case I wanna prevend. I hate to use the bootdisc.
Other question: which method now is the best to make self booting dc games: After Echelon's guide or using bin2boot or use one of the other selfbooting progs dccopyworld offers? There are other progs like Autoboot.... Are they good too or just crap? Someone tried them out yet?

Most .CDI files are self-boot. .BIN/.CUE files will be non-boot.

To be sure, you can use CDMAGE or ISOBURNER on the image and if you see two sessions, it's most likely self-boot.

BIN2BOOT seems to be the easiest way to make self-boot games, although it doesn't always work. It refuses to work for me when the image contains WINCEOS.BIN instead of 1ST_READ.BIN. As a matter of fact, even one of the recent Kalisto releases that is a WINCE game stated that they didn't make it self-boot because they hadn't figured out how to do so with WIN-CE. Odd thing, I just followed Echelon's tutorial and made it self-boot and it worked just fine. BIN2BOOT refused to convert it because of the WINCEOS.BIN though.

Also if it's a .CDI image, if you load it up into DJ and in the info window below it says 2 sessions then the game a selfboot, if it's only 1 session it's a non-boot
